This idea of a blogspot came from within some members of our genealogy Chapter (Jefferson County of the Ohio Genealogical Society)in Steubenville,Ohio. While working on Jefferson County public records from Inventories, Estate Records,Immigration,and Probate packets that are being prepared by a lengthy process of hydration,repairing,restoration, recording,filing and photo digitalization for public Internet search.
Questions arose, Do we need a blogspot? Is one necessary? After all we have the Chapter newsletter and our website? Who could start one, and can it be maintained?
Well some further "informal" discussion persued, I decided to volunteer that I would start one with some of the content coming from public records, "What is that?" What does this mean in this Will? "Did anyone ever hear of this? "Oh my!." "Let's check this out on the Internet.
With a new growing list of terms,that none of us were sure of, did not have any clue, I and others of our chapter, have been collecting these words to researched on the Internet. This endeavor has proven both fun, humorous, and definitely informative. I have gathered some fun facts legal terms and ideas to share in the coming days here on the blogspot.
